DESCRIPTION:
"A-10 photo essay 1997 - 2006 worth having in your collection" according to John Santucci. Another fine work by Don Logan a fine aviation author and photographer who I had the pleasure to meet on a USAF base while doing my own miil air photography. This 2007 book ,War Hawgs, covers the A-10 from 1997 to the summer of 2006 as a complement to a previous A-10 volume by him. This book is a photo essay on the various USAF operators that proudly flew the A-10's in the time period mentioned above. You'll see photos of the specific Wart Hawgs flow. "Magnificent plane - spare on detail of the aircraft, heavy on squadron pic's" according to B. McAllister. I didn't read the description well. This is an excellent catalog of the various squadrons in place at the time the book was published, with pictures of the planes from each. I can see the appeal, especially if you are a member or an alum, or acquainted with one of these elite fliers. This book offers spare narrative on the squadrons or the planes. Most of the pic's are standard profile shots of the respective aircraft, for identification. For the gen. Excellent! Jake Melampy Don Logan is well-known as a premier aviation historian/photographer. This particular book, in my opinion, is his best work yet. Many of the photos in the book are "action" shots, including many photos taken on the range as the A-10 goes to work. Most highly recommended!
All twelve continental U.S. This book bridges the gap between 1997, when his first A-10 book was published, and summer 2006 with 550 current action A-10 photographs and updated Squadron information, including the effect of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) 2006 on A-10 units. bases operating A-10s are covered, as well as A-10s on the Nellis AFB range complex, Bollen Range at Fort Indiantown Gap near Harrisburg Pennsylvania, Razorback Range at Fort Chaffee near Fort Smith Arkansas, and Claiborne Range at Fort Polk near Alexandria, Louisiana. The three bases outside the forty-eight contiguous United States bases - Eielson AFB in Alaska, Spangdahlem AB in Germany, and Osan AB in South Korea - are also represented.. Don Logan's all-new pictorial book is intended as both a complementary and suppl
