From the Back CoverUltimate Guide: Ceramic & Stone Tiling
The worst book I've ever read on tiling A Professional Consumer I've done quite a bit of tiling, but decided to order a couple more books because I was redoing a bathroom and building a shower from scratch. I bought the Black and Decker Ceramic Tile book, the Stanley Complete Baths book, and this one. This one has some terrible advice. One of the most glaring things was that it has you laying tile directly on plywood for example, and barely even mentions cement backer board. I have seen this done a LOT by installers cutting corners, and if you lay it on plywood it will crack eventually. Though there is some good content, there are num. Tile it yourself! Alleykat This home improvement book walked me thru putting glass tiles in my half bath. It explained exactly how and what products I would need!!! Love it!. Kenneth C. Hernandez said Great book. This book helped answer a lot of questions I had about wall tile. I don't think I could have done so well without it.
Chapters on tools and materials feature how-to photo sequences so even novices can tackle tile projects successfully. Ultimate Guide to Ceramic & Stone Tile, Third Edition, contains everything a do-it-yourselfer needs to know about tiling floors, walls, countertops, patios, and more. The emphasis is on solid, durable installations that can stand up to years of use in kitchens, baths, and other areas. The book also covers exterior applications and includes a practical and complete guide to repairing and maintaining existing tile.. Design and planning information helps readers prepare the site and select the right ceramic, stone, porcelain, vinyl, or glass tile
