DESCRIPTION:

Craigie shows the persistent meaning of this Word through the ages.Carrying forward brilliantly the pattern established by Barclay's New Testament series, the Daily Study Bible has been extended to cover the entire Old Testament as well. The author of Twelve Prophets, Volume 1 completes his study with a commentary on Micah, a contemporary of Isaiah, who foretold the birth of the Messiah; Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah, prophets who spoke for God in the last days of the Kingdom of Judah; and Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, whose messages were directed to those reforming the community of God's people after the Babylonian Exile. A Practical, Scholarly, and Devotional Commentary This commentary covers the last 7 of the minor prophets. It and its companion volume 1 (on the first 5 minor prophets) are a splendid help for anyone who wants to read these prophets as God's word for us. Craigie gives us the historical background for the books and relates th. Good for applying the minor prophets to today Daniel According to Andrew Hill and John Walton, this is "insightful theological analysis and contemporary application" of the prophets' messages. This commentary series can be hit and miss regarding rigorous scholarship, but the work on the 12 prophets seems to be better than some . There are better books I purchased this book to supplement the Smart Guide series. I needed some material on the minor prophets, but this was not as easy to use and I will not order vol.1. There are good books for Bible Study but this is not one of them.
