DESCRIPTION:
But when a young woman goes missing on New Year's Eve and Peter discovers the body of Ramses, an old acquaintance from prison, things start to unravel. It's the coldest winter in memory as ex-convict Peter Boutrup moves to remote, rural Denmark to start a new life. Two days after the disappearance the body of a young girl is found in the harbour - she is naked, attached to an anchor and her face has been torn off. Is this the body of the missing woman and is it connected with Ramses' murder? And could Peter's strange new neighbour, Felix, be involved? Peter Boutrup just wants peace and quiet
Three Dog Night Author Elsebeth Egholm is a bestselling Danish author and this is the first of her books translated into English. Often novels translated for the UK market tend to be published out of series order, but the blurb on the back of this book said it was "the start of a thrilling new crime series featuring ex-convict Peter Boutrup" and it certainly read like a first novel (introducing characters and places), so I am hopeful that the publishers have taken note of readers wishes for once.Set in the small town of Grena in East Jutland, Denmark, this book is set i. "Interesting character." according to Kay. Good story. Can't wait to read more about Peter Boutrup, the "good guy" who is also a convict. A tender-hearted tough guy, he is capable of great kindness, toward people and animals, while also capable of taking care of some pretty bad characters when necessary. I want to find out more about this character.. "chose it to be 1st book read on new kindle" according to allan duncan. and i wasn't disappointed, loved the craft displayed of having several seemingly disparate stories running consecutively [ that individually had subtleties and mystery ] that finally come together to make a good and satisfying end.a big fan of this genre, 1st read by this author and have already downloaded a 2nd and will probably work my way thro' her back catalogue whilst watching for new releases.Al
