Amazon Customer I am new to this series and it is interesting to see how the values of that time period are very different than modern times. Some of the characters and the dialog would not be politically correct these days. Having previously seen the movie and not read any of the source material I enjoyed seeing some of the characters and realizing how they were changed for the movie. Overall a good introduction to this artists's work.. Amazon Customer said The Spirit is A Rocking Good Ride. You can't go wrong with The Spirit. Eisner was truly advancing the comic book format to be more cinematic. I would love to see an animated series of his world that stayed true to the comic books. Yes, I know there was a movie. Most of us don't think or speak of it if we can help it.
