DESCRIPTION:
Xtofyr said I hate to give a book a bad review when there. I hate to give a book a bad review when there are so few other reviews available; my tastes are not everyone's tastes. I also hate to give a bad review on an author that I'd give 5 stars to for other books he's written. HoweverThis book is not good. If you're looking for a time travel story that makes sense, you. "Somewhen in time" according to J. A. Jack. Excellent read.Wingrove is an excellent writer. He doesn't try to dumb down time travel and complex interwoven storylines the payoff is huge.Get this if you like your sci-fi epic, smart and riveting.. This book is OK Amusd_onnlookr This book is OK but I have to take a break every couple of chapters. A very complex plotline, hopping around a lot. The author could learn from Poul Anderson time patrol books how to make fewer time hops do the job! Lively in places but need to take breaks.
But in a world where realities shift and memory is never constant, can one man’s destiny be the deciding factor in a war between the empires of time?. Otto Behr is a German agent, fighting his Russian counterparts across three millennia, manipulating history for moments in time that can change everything. There is only the war. Only the remnants of two great nations stand and for Otto, the war is life itself, the last hope for his people
"Brilliant I was gripped most ingenious" Brian Aldiss "Wingrove is a master storyteller and 'Empire of Time' is a gripping epic that slingshots the reader across human history alongside characters enthralled by their own passions." Michael Cobley "It's immense fun for anyone who likes their SF writ really large" SFX "an impeccable sense of setting The Empire of Time could be the beginning of something brilliant: Blackout meets Bond in a relentless race war Wingrove depicts with deftness and deference" Tor
He is also the coauthor of Trillion Year Spree with Brian Aldiss and the Myst novels with Rand Miller.. David Wingrove is the celebrated author of the Chung Kuo series
