DESCRIPTION:
Now I have no one. But it’s true. One moment I had Evan, the man I thought I’d marry. I never thought I’d be another statistic, another girl abducted in a foreign country, my entire future washed away by an impulsive, split second in time. Except him. He sucked me into a web of lies and now it’s too late. Ryker Vargas, and I don’t really have him. My name is Hattie Covington and I’m a statistic, but statistics never tell the whole story.. I’m a prisoner of the Vargas Cartel. He’d never belong to any one but himself. I took the bait. “The Bargain” (Book #1) “Unveiled” (Book #2) “Confessed” (Book #3) coming Fall 2015… Three weeks, twenty-one days, or five hundred and four hours… That’s all it took to derail my life and twist it into something unrecognizable. It started off strong, the premise and setting were both unique, and the ending came with a twist I did not expect. However - the entire "romance" aspect of this story is so pathetically unbelievable that in my opinion, it cost the story an entire star.I understand that Stockholm Syndrome is a real thing, and that could very well have been what was going on here. Howeve. "Obsessed with sex with her kidnapper" according to Marie. This was everything I dislike about New Adult fiction. She's drugged and kidnapped and wants to have sex again with the man man who did it. The twist at the end was very high school and rather predictable. The heroine is a whiny doormat who keeps putting herself in additional danger, compounding everyone's problems.. "Hes her captor and shes his captive." according to Kindle Customer. Hes her captor and shes his captor but not everything is as it seems and he may end up being just what she needs.Wow. This book was all kinds of crazy and messed up but made some kind of twisted sense. Can't wait to start the next book!
