DESCRIPTION:
Fantastic Set of Stories from Differing Perspectives Aaron L Jarrad I was living in Ishinomaki when the disaster occurred, as such, I know my city's series of events very well. However, I have only picked up bits and pieces of how things were in other areas of Miyagi. This book does a wonderful job of giving the reader a well-rounded idea of what happened as well as how people thought and functioned in the hours, days, weeks, and months following the disaster.Quick yet engaging read, would highly recommend to anyone.P.S. I can personally attest to how effective Taylor's speech-contest coaching
The book includes the stories of both Japanese and Americans who were there before, during, and after the disaster. While less than 2,000 people perished in Fukushima, Miyagi lost over 10,000 lives. These short narratives aim to honor those who passed away and those who persevere. This is a thank-you letter from a minor victim in Miyagi (author) to Americans.Taylor Anderson was the first discovered American victim of the tsunami.Shinichi Endo lost all three of his children.Journalists, doctors and administrative staff continued to assist others rather than staying with their families. The U.S. Forces rebuilt Sendai Airport and other areas with remarkable rapidity. The U.S. The author wrote this book because she is concerned about the fact that the people in the world now remember the disaster that happened in Fukushima. Forces and Japan's Self Defense Force jointly recovered a Miyagi island.. Half of the proceeds from the book will be donated to the Taylor Anderson Memorial Gift Fund.
