Meh Just bad writing. If you want to understand what the Dao De Jing meant to the Chinese when it was written, read Hendrick's 1992 "Lao Tzu: Te-Tao Ching - A New Translation Based on the Recently Discovered Ma-wang-tui Texts". I nicely made edition of a classic. I'm not going to comment here about the quality of the actual content of the Tao Te Ching. With hundreds of publications, you can find longer and better written analyses of Lao Tzu's writings elsewhere. What I will say, however, is that I do find this pa. "Beautiful book" according to diggy. As someone who is new to Eastern philosophy, this book is an accessible, and poetic take on the TTC. I've compared to other editions and the translations vary tremendously not just in style but in use of metaphor, word choice, and cadence. With an ancien
