Amazon-Kunde said Cookie-cutter approach. I liked this book because it has lots of information on some challenges you face when you get older - like changing hair quality or the fact that your usual make-up doesn't seem to work any more (though Charla Krupp's "How not to look old" has more of this type of information). It was especially the honesty of the author that appealed to me, e. g. how everybody was sold a perm in the 80s, or about the mistakes he made. The makeovers are very interesting to watch, really jaw-dropping, but I wish the author had left some of their individuality to the women. Yes, they did dress inappropriately or not to their advantage, . "respectful and inspiring" according to twitches. Overall, Hopkins' book is realistic and positive. I could tell while reading it that his respect for older women, and his desire to help them transition into what he calls their "second act," is genuine; he does not come across as a stylist trying to make a buck off the insecurities of older women at all. His suggestions are detailed, but realistic. Even though I am a fashion junkie and always have paid close attention to my hair/makeup/clothes, I still learned a ton from reading this book (the section on body typing was particularly surprising to me). In fact, I read it all in one sitting!. a book to for the mature new you lc This book reminded me of things I should be doing. It help me to dress my older body. I am using this book as a guide to buy clothes. It's give me some new dos. Its my new guide and it works.
