Still has good information though Not what I was expecting. Still has good information though.. No longer relevant Mike Extremely disappointed in this book. Based on the listed publish date (May, 2014), I assumed that it was up to date with current SQL Server technology. This is simply not the case. The book reads as if the content and scripts were written prior to the release of SQL Server 2005, which involved a significant change in the platform. While some of the concepts still apply and the scripts may work in new versions, they are antiquated and do not reflect current best practices for collecting the information. Couple that with the many references to Oracle in a SQL Server title, and your money is best spent elsewhere.. Just read 100 first pages, imho, this author johan sebastian Just read 100 first pages, imho, this author took another approach for performance tunning than the other created. He laid a very strong fondation of how system works . Armed with this information he build whole new framework for gaining optimum performance. Very recomended for some one new .
