LaceandLavender said Best Historical Romance I've Read in Ages. Its been a while since I've settled into a historical romance this good. Between the gripping mystery surrounding the scandal of Alyce Hythe's name and her passionate romance with Julian Casvelyn, Seductive Secrets had me hooked. Unpredictable catastrophe and suspicion followed Alyce throughout the novel, at every new page there seemed to be a new development to the scandal surrounding her and I absolutely loved it! Unlike so many other novels I was refreshed by the fact that Seductive Secrets was not predictable; I had no idea where the story was. ReadsTooMuch said Get yourself an editor. This book had potential. It had an interesting story line, with good potential for intrigue and action. But most of the intrigue seemed to go on behind the scenes. Solving the "mystery" just seemed to fall into their laps after weeks of, apparently, not much real action - or at least little that we were privy to. And why, when every time the heroine turns around she is crying, is she always "horrified" to feel . Badly Edited But Entertaining Gothic Romance Maybe 3.5 stars. It's almost as if the book were written on a smart phone that over-autocorrected! The writing will be smooth and engrossing, then suddenly a hiccup in the writing. The writing style is otherwise pretty good. I wouldn't say the author is as good as Wilkie Collins, but with proper
