I may be somewhat biased, being a 6th generation Floridian, but I learned more about Florida history from this book than from any other source. The language is exquisite, the metaphors glimmering and the people are "real." A true joy to read and savor.Having newly moved to Tampa, this book is the invitation I need to feel welcomed in an environment very different from the Tennessee I left. The significance of PLACE is celebrated.
