DESCRIPTION:
MUCH NEEDED "Ransom, the High Cost of Sin" is a very well developed evaluation of Biblical information regarding the issue of sin and God's redemptive response. In a day when sin is treated too lightly by too many, Dean effectively communicates how costly it actualy is. Focusing on the broken heart of God and the broken relationships sin produces, Dean describes the importance and purpose. John Bunyan said Understanding!. Proverbs says to search for understanding as for silver, because it is in the end more valuable than gold. While theology has been written and repeated for centuries with little re-examination of the topics, Dean Harvey (a respected teacher of many YWAM students) has examined the topics of the human HEART (basic motive), SIN (as it affects God, and not just consequences for us. Mark L. Largent said Changed my relationship with God !!. Pastor Harveys writing style is as if you were sitting in on a teaching teaching series. The scriptural references to tie his progression hru the book an his main points are fantastic. I read each chapter several times as new nuggets of information and personal challenge within my on spirit have drawn my own commitment and relationship with God deeper. A "blessed" study book.
The secondary cost of sin is to the sinner-in his current life and the one to come. Discover the truth about sin every Christian must know. Harvey reframes this most important Christian concept for an eye-opening book that will change your relationship with God. Rather, Harvey explains how the primary consequence of sin is to God-in the form of a broken heart. Third in line are those around us, who are all affected by our sins in some way. "The author admonishes the reader to live each day to bring joy, and not grief, to the heart of God, who loves us and gave Himself for a sin-offering as a fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrifices." -George (Jed) Smock, Campus Ministries USA "It is my humble opinion that there is a high cost that comes with failing to understand the powerful truth contained in the pages of this book." -Michail E. Built on solid Scripture, Ransom shows how our self-centered focus on big sins-how they affect us in the here and now-is fundamentally misplaced. RANSOM: The High Cost of Sin from Dean H.
