DESCRIPTION:
It has an upstairs and a downstairs. Owl lives by himself, but he is not always alone. Owl loves his house. One night, Winter comes into his living room. And when Owl goes out for a walk in the dark, a round friend stays with him all the way home. It has a cozy fireplace. Another time, there are two strange bumps in his bedroom. There are books to read and there is soup to eat on cold, frosty nights. Lovable Owl is sure to gain many friends--the beginning readers he will delight and entertain in these five nighttime stories.
Talking to children about loneliness Blair Hodges Strikingly beautiful children's literature. A perfect combination of melancholy and humor. My three year old daughter loves Owl. The first two stories are just slightly too scary for her, but she let me read all the way through them the first time. Other than Frog and Toad I haven't seen another children's author deal with the theme of loneliness the way Lobel can.. wolfpack said A Must Have!. This is such a fun book! I never had the pleasure of reading it as a child but picked it up from the library for my boys. They absolutely loved it and with such a low price I knew we had to have a copy of our own. We've read it several times and they enjoy quoting lines and acting out scenes from the book.. Very good. Pam Almost anything by Arnold Lobel is great. This is not as great as Frog and Toad, but pretty good!
