It didn’t do a damn bit of good to play by the rules if the other guys had the game rigged.Darcy wouldn’t survive the night if she didn’t find shelter. But pulling an innocent into her suddenly tumultuous world was wrong. A chance meeting with a kind-hearted woman could pluck her from the fire just in time. Thoroughly, unquestionably wrong. But right and wrong didn’t seem as clear as they’d always been. Plan ahead, work hard, play by the rules, and you’ll be justly rewarded. The maxims that had been drummed into Darcy Morgan were the backbone of her orderly life. But as she stumbled down the streets of Brooklynbruised, battered, and beatenshe began to think she’d been led astray. The keystones of her life had been shattered, forcing her to care only about survivalher own.
This Whack-O Loves This Book!! To her fans' delight, Susan X. Meagher does not know how to write a bad book. Excellent story line and character development makes for a very entertaining romantic/suspense novel. The book synopsis and a review by Philologus should entice you to read this "don't-want-to-put-down" and fun book.At the end of her story, Susan has done something new and different . So, if you read Out of Whack, don't stop at "The End" but read what it says right after those words. This is a unique and creative way to finish the story and this reade. Philologus said a great romantic suspense. what if you are a rather boring CPA in a boring job and suddenly your world turns upside down and you find yourself injured and running from the Russian mob? And what if you meet a nice stranger and suddenly you find yourself helping someone on the run . can't divulge more of the plot without spoilers. What I can say is that Susan X. Meagher has given us again an excellent read which focuses on character development. Yes, and as a reader one starts to wonder what if that had been ME, . Violet said Need More!. This story started with great thrills and chills and then it went on a different direction. I do admit that I enjoyed the love story between the two main characters. It was a feel good story on that point. The "thrill" part where the mob is after Darcy just gets run down. The mob is always a step behind Darcy and her kidnapped or not girlfriend. How? The reader is never given any clues as to how they always seem a step behind and never get to them. Then the whole book is about how Darcey and Tess are hiding for months and then
