The book also wisely provides concrete and helpful advice on how to protect your own pets during a disaster. She also provides valuable information on the current state of homeless animals and how anyone can help all of those homeless pets today who. A great read. As a volunteer who worked to reunite Katrina survivors with their pets I reluctantly picked up O'Toole's book. The subject matter had me anticipating a cover-to-cover sob-fest. But I put personal reluctance aside to give the animals and the people who went through that disaster a voice they desperately need.
