I have read their earlier collections, They Die Strangers (2002) and Voices of Change (1998), and eagerly looked forward to this new volume. Here they have painstakingly amassed a representative sample of the short story genre from the entire Gulf region that capture the unique perspectives of the authors of the stories. Written by male and female. Great intro to modern Arabian literature These are short stories and vary in quality -- but it was something of a page-turner for me. The stories are only a few pages long, and tell such different tales, that it's hard to capture the thrill of discovery as you move from one to the next.
