Melissa said good beginning text. "Open Door to Spanish" is a good textbook for beginners, and is especially useful if your Spanish class is using it. If you buy a used copy, make sure it has the CD because it's a great way to check your pronunciation. The course covers Latin American Spanish and culture, not the accent from Spain. Overall, I was very pleased. "Don J" according to Donald H. Johnson. This is a very good book for learning Conversational Spanish. It is being used in a class that I am taking, except the this edition is is not the most current. The changes in the editions are very minor.
