"One "Constitution" That Needs Amending" according to David M. Garrett. I find myself in harmony with "Dr. Maturin's" review. Little new here not more eloquently or accurately provided in Ty Martin's "A Most Fortunate Ship" (reviewed earlier and a hands-down recommendation in this genre). Organization is indeed poor, "facts" not in order, etc. A cherished American icon, the author does the venerable lady nor the reader no great service with this entry. This book describes the consruction of the USS Constitution in 1798, the pivotal role it played in the War of 1812, and its years as a training ship for the US Naval Academy. It also describes more recent efforts to restore the ship and put it on display in Boston.
