I have tried to use this poem by Robert Louis Stevenson but there were a lot of images and phrases that where beyond the student's imagination. The wonderful pictures by Glenn Lang in this book bring this classic to life for the children. Great tool for teaching rhyming, rich vocabulary, word families, science, and art. Great to follow with an art project where they put themselves in a picture with their own shadow!. Unfortunately when I looked to obtain another copy, all the reviews are lumped together so it's hard to determine the best illustrated version.My 3 year-old absolutely loves the book. A perfect piece for the beginning treble choir. A single melody is used for all four verses with variation coming from the dynamics and tempi.. The text depicts wonderful pictures, and its engaging and spunky adjectives will surely make the children smile
