DESCRIPTION:
"Great for children and their parents to learn to speak Mandarin!" according to Christina Liu. From the moment I saw the Mandy & Pandy book, I knew that it could be an ideal framework around which a preschool curriculum for teaching Mandarin could be built. Each page of the book can be used for one lesson, where a child can learn one phrase, and then learn related vocabulary that they can also use with the phrase. My 5-year-old daughter enjoys listening to the audio CD and reading along.Coincidentally, I was recently asked to teach my daughter's preschool Mandarin class at. Good for teaching basic Chinese words as well as reading English words Steven Schwartz This book was a treat for us and it's become a favorite of my daughter's. It's the only children's book I've found for introducing Chinese words, and, to our surprise, is good at teaching English words as well. The book itself is a 'board book' with drawings reminiscent of 'Good Night Moon'. The story is of Mandy (a little girl) and Pandy (her panda bear friend), playing with family or friends. The basic words for each situation are introduced along with different favorite things. Great CD/Book Set for Little Ones to Start Learning Chinese Cmtttjkp Mandy and Pandy Say, "Ni Hao Ma?" (Mandy and Pandy)I purchased this book for my five year old daughter, adopted in China when she was two years old, and she loved it from the moment we first read it. She loves to read through it with the CD and she is repeating most of the phrases perfectly already. The illustrations are colorful and fun for children and the phrases are perfect for starting to learn a new language. We can't wait for the new books to come out!
