DESCRIPTION:
Yoshiki Tanaka's epic space opera returns--more focused, relatable and intriguing than before. Foxof For the uninitiated, Yoshiki Tanaka's sprawling science-fiction epic, "The Legend of Galactic Heroes" is a massive saga spanning 10 main novels and several side-stories. It has been adapted into multiple mediums, including animation, film, manga, audio drama and ballet. My review will be brief and--aside from a minor comment on the events of the previous book, so please don not worry--spoiler free.On the series as a whole.Much like the venerable "Mobile Suit Gundam" franchise, the Legend of the Galactic Heroes is sometimes referred to as the "Star Wars of Japan." Though, personal. Gunlord said The greatness continues. I don’t have as much to say about Volume "The greatness continues" according to Gunlord. I don’t have as much to say about Volume 2 of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes novel series, because most of what I said about the first one still applies--check my long review for the first volume to see! In short, LoGH #2 is as good as #1, perhaps even better, given that Huddleston’s translation seems to be improving. There are a couple of errors, like Julian, a character in the democratic Free Planets Alliance, calling a superior “Excellency” (which is more suited for a feudal setting like the Empire), and some errors with counting (a planet described . of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes novel series, because most of what I said about the first one still applies--check my long review for the first volume to see! Wulf der Sturm said Great story but could have better editing.. As detailed in previous reviews, if you like epic stories in a sci-fi setting, this is a must read. The editing of the translation appears to have been done by someone without familiarity with military terminology, which is an important part of the story. One of the characters is referred to initially as a Brigadier General, and then later on he's a Commodore. "Fleets" and "Regiments" are used interchangeably to refer to the military units (they should be fleets, since all the commanders are Admirals). Perhaps a nitpick, but a small one.
