I absolutely love the logic of this book's framework We had several up-ending events in our family life this past year, and this financial guide from Jonathan Clements has been a godsend as we navigated the financial decisions involved. I absolutely love the logic of this book's framework. When I have a specific, urgent question, I can quickly get to the topic I need because of the way the book is organized by theme and sub-topics. In this regard, it differs from all other financial guidebooks I've read. But most important of all, to me, is that the author kept his familiar personal style (I subscribed to the WSJ for two decades mainly to be able to read Clements' weekly WSJ column). My favor. Finally -- a Good Personal Finance Guide That'll Be Updated Annually (I Hope) reader_avid Having to file a tax return each year makes us pay attention to the latest developments in the tax code and its relationship to the economy and to our taxable income and deductible expenses. That's why annually updated tax prep guides are best sellers, year after year.In contrast, when it comes to our personal finances, we ourselves are the only party we have to answer to. As a result, most of us are largely mis- and under-informed about personal finance. What's more, we don't seem to care. Realizing this, publishers and authors offer intermittent, eccentric and trend-following books that focus on only one or two aspects of personal finance. "A must read for anyone who is serious about getting their financial life in order and keeping an appropriate perspective on mone" according to Amazon Customer. Clements is my favorite personal financial writer. I have followed his columns in the Wall Street Journal for years and always found his advise practical, easy to understand and enlightening. Following his advice has enabled me to retire early and enjoy economic freedom. This book did not disappoint. It gathered together many years of his advice into one place. I am giving a copy of this book to each of my 5 children for Christmas with hopes that does them as much good as his advice over the years has done for me.
