Gorgeous! This is a perfect springtime book! The colors and artwork are stunning the words have a nice, lilting cadence. There are many versions of the "house that Jack built" books another popular springtime one in this vein is "Jack's Garden" by Henry Cole which includes lots of juicy botanical facts and features. This book does not. It is pure whimsy and highly recommended.. Lovely, sweet, simple book that helps children understand what goes into growing a garden dmh1218 My grand-daugher's name is Isabella. She just turned 6 and this is the first year we planted a garden together. I took pictures that I had taken of her preparing her garden and tucked them in the back flap. I hope the book will bring back memories for her clear into adult hood. A very special book for us! Next on the list to buy is: Isabella's shoes (she has more of those than tomatoes we planted!). disappointing Angela Pictures and color were great.story line was obscured by the constant repetition of rhymne. While I didn't like it as a 'book to read to a little one'my grand daughter (age 4) started to repeat from memory certain lines.
