DESCRIPTION:
The author provides a number of practical tables, including IEEE and European standards, and design principles for industrial applications. The modernization of industrial power systems has been stifled by industry's acceptance of extremely outdated practices. Using materials from IEEE courses developed for practicing engineers, the book covers relevant engineering features and modern design procedures, including power system studies, grounding, instrument transformers, and medium-voltage motors. Long overdue, Industrial Power Systems provides power engineers with a blueprint for designing electrical systems that will provide continuously available electric power at the quality and quantity needed to maintain operations and standards of production.. Industry is hesitant to depart from power system design practices influenced by the economic concerns and technology of the post World War II period. In order to break free of outdated techniques and ensure product quality and continuity of operations, engineers must apply novel techniques to plan, des
Steven J. Marrano said A Great Update to Beeman's Book. I am a practicing electrical engineer and I have worked in design of power and control systems for 19 years.I am also a registered professional engineer and took the examination in electrical engineering. If there is a book (both good and bad) dealing with industrial electrical design, I probably own a copy. I have also authored a book on the subject mys. Great idea for a book This book fills a much needed niche between theory and practical application. It will prove a great reference for inexperienced engineers. As an experienced (30 years) professional I would have liked the depth of subject treatment to be more than twice it is.. "Excellent power book" according to Calc. Excellent book for the new or seasoned power electrical engineer. This book covers everything you need to know, and stuff you probably didn't know, to design nearly all aspects of industrial power systems. The one thing it doesn't do is go too in depth about any of the subjects, which isn't that detrimental to this book. Coverage of most of the subjects
