Excellent This edition was a good choice for me, a beginner who had just finished an introductory class. The notes on vocabulary, grammar, and allusions to mythology are on the same and the facing pages as the Greek. Great introductory book kimon The notes are generous enough that a student not yet familiar with the more complex points of Greek grammar and of dactylic hexameter can read it easily and enjoy it without a full-on translation. There's also a nice glossary in the back so you shouldn't have to consult a dictionary constantly.. Good way to review Greek D. Smith The size and style of the Greek text make it very readable. It is convenient that the notes are located on the same page as the text. This book is useful for a beginning Greek student or someone interested in reviewing (or resurrecting) ancient Greek. I was not satisfied with the commentary in the books introduction or the author's recommendations for further reading.More
