"Five Stars" according to Jules H.. Dark but good!. I like to read for pleasure and escape The stories were very well written, reminding me of Carson McCullers, but all were too dark for my taste. I like to read for pleasure and escape, without reminders of how difficult life in the South can be. Been there done that. If it hadn't been for the unhappy plots, I would have given this a higher rating.. "Kirby Crow's best writing!" according to JAMES HARRIS. Incredible imagery and similes, fascinating detail and imaginative. Poetic prose I found myself getting caught up in phrasing and description, starting at the beginning of a passage to read it again. Stories don't necessarily go where expected, or even where you hope; but, I felt satisfaction at each ending that insinuated hope or
