Anything worth dying for was worth killing for!” Would his philosophy change and allow him to walk down 5 years of parole? Or would he become just another recidivism statistic or wind up with a California tag on his toe?Going Back to Cali is the gritty urban tale of an ex-con released to the mean streets of LA in 1988. The year is 1988. Sheila E Moore I have read this “riveting” fictional book based on the life of a convicted felon from Kansas City, Missouri (my hometown), who after serving a 15 year sentence for his crime committed, after being paroled; decided instead of remaining in the state of Missouri; to go back to his previous "living in the streets" of Los Angeles, California (Cali). As a reader of Author: Omar Rashad's tale: be prepared for the “rawest of street language” (how it was with the main character and his circle of associates). The entire . Juanita Brown said I read this book after visiting California myself and wondering. I read this book after visiting California myself and wondering about the title. I didn't realize how graphic the language would be, however the theme was interesting. The writer kept twists at every turn with the lead character, Chance, and all the ups and downs of street life. I give the book a high rating (5 stars) for the "realness" of the other characters described as well and how they were so important to why Chance began and how he ended the journey he took.
