Vegas Slim said very good on historical material, not so much on comtemporary. Overall I like this book mainly for the exhaustive historical analysis Hall offers. The book is full of photos from various historical societies with Hall's description and analysis below each one. I bought the book mostly looking for information on visiting ghost towns in Southern Nevada and at first was disappointed that the book focuses so much on history. But after reading . I've lived in Nevada for over 30 years, and I personally knew Shawn Hall when we both worked at the Nevada State Library & Archives. In the summer of 1999, he had decided to move to Tonopah to pursue his passions with ghost towns.
