"YES!!!" according to creamyPB. Just amazing! I really love this one. The intro explains that Dr. Angell wrote some computer programs in Fortran IV language (this book is from 1985). The purpose was to study the mathematical/geometric patterns from ancient cultures. These designs were a by-product of that. These are all framed because they are infinite patterns. Some are angular, some are circular. All kinds of shapes. The lines are quite thin, so bear that in mind i. beautiful, uniqe designs The designs in this book on the delicate side of geometric design. Some geometry design books can be a bit more pop culture oriented, but this one is not. its focuses far more on the line design and the shapes that pop up between them instead of using a lot of black vs. white optical effects. I use/enjoy this book often.. Susan B. Brown said Patterns for Needlepoint. I bought this to adapt any pattern that I could for needlepoint. So far I have seen at least Patterns for Needlepoint I bought this to adapt any pattern that I could for needlepoint. So far I have seen at least 3 patterns that can be adapted. Well worth the price of the book.. patterns that can be adapted. Well worth the price of the book.

Artists, designers, and craft enthusiasts will find Geometric Allover Patterns a practical, inexpensive source of royalty-free ideas for a host of arts and crafts projects.. This intriguing volume offers a fascinating collection of 46 striking lattice designs drawn by a computer and based on mathematical analysis of age-old geometrical compositions. Angell's research of beautiful ancient patterns and development of a computer program to generate new decorative motifs.Using random, nonsymmetric sets of lines and arcs, the computer produced dynamic symmetric lattices called "serendipity patterns." The bold geometrics fall into 17 categories, each type corresponding to one of 17 two-dimensional space groups.Use these crisp black-and-white illustrations alone or in any combination to create your own eye-catching compositions or color them in vivid hues to achieve dazzling new effects. The designs are a byproduct of computer scientist Ian O
