In many way. For fans of all PBS English village mysteries Emzee I enjoy reading this series very much. It takes place in an English village during WWII. The descriptions of the clothing, food and attitude of the English inhabitants and their attitude towards the American military personnel that are stationed there take me to that time and place. Some people might find this series "quaint", slow moving, or dated, but for those interested in likable and interesting characters and know what to expect from these books, I think you would enjoy them. I plan on reading all the books in the series.. Joanne said Latest book in series. Interesting twist at end. Would have loved to see more played on Martin's vision of Lady Elizabeth's father's "ghost". Normally do not read period period pieceswas a nice change for me.
