Finally, a finance book that makes sense! I picked this book up to help me better understand Cleverly's book, "Essentials of Health Care Finance". After weeks of re-reading Cleverly's book I read several chapters in this book and now it all makes sense! Well-written, clear, simple, with real life examples. The author does not assume you have taken several accounting courses. Instead of just reading this book for a course, I am now really interested in the subject.. Financial Management This book has well written explanations of financial information for the nursing professional. I found it helpful for both my school work as well as my practice setting. There were a few items I wish had been made even simpler for me as I am a novice with this information. However, overall I found it a good resource.. "Financial Management for Nurse Managers and Executives" according to Beverly Ann St. Louis. I chose this rating because it gave me the foundation I needed to successfuly manage my department. It provided the frame work for how i snould plan and budget for my department . I will recomend this book to other nurse managers and to upper management because it gives a clear picture of all the areas needed to be considered by upper management (that they may not necessarily know) before they make budget cuts to nursing units.
