DESCRIPTION:

But the story is original enough to pass muster and the past success of similar apocalyptic thrillers bodes well for this one. Domain focuses its doomsday scenario on an ancient Mayan myth and sets up an intriguing pair of saviors in Dominique Vasquez, a psych grad student who's an intern at a Florida psychiatric facility, and Mick Gabriel, her first patient. For those who never leave home without a copy of the prophecies of Nostradamus tucked in their hip pocket, Steve Alten's new thriller is just the ticket. "Not my favorite Steve Alten book but" according to Jason Frost. still worth reading. Being a huge Steve Alten fan I was working my way to reading all of his work. I've always been interested in "end of the world" novels and this one seemed very interesting. It was. HOWEVER I'm not into Sci-Fi type stuff and it took some work for me to get through this book. NOT because it wasn't good, but rather because Alten kinda lost me whenhe started talking about space, black holes, different dimensions, and planetary markers. Julius Gabriel's diary. Tanner, who writes great novels on Cryptozoology that successfully educa. M. Grant said DOMAIN - LOSES THE MOMENTUM!. I have been a big fan of Steve Alten's books MEG and THE TRENCH so I dove into DOMAIN ready for an exciting tale. In the first "DOMAIN - LOSES THE MOMENTUM!" according to M. Grant. I have been a big fan of Steve Alten's books MEG and THE TRENCH so I dove into DOMAIN ready for an exciting tale. In the first 250 pages or so Alten does not disappoint. The amount of research in the novel is astounding. I loved the fact that I didn't know what was real and what had been "doctored" for the sake of the storyline. Alten mixes in research, the journal of explorer scientist Julius Gabriel, and the adventures of Michael Gabriel together nicely to keep the story m. 50 pages or so Alten does not disappoint.
