This book came as a pleasant surprise for my personal study in Deuteronomy. Christopher Wright is an excellent writer and gives an engaging and thought-provoking exposition of the book. There are some helpful discussions throughout on the "ethics" of difficult issues, a number of helpful tie-ins with other Old Testament passages, and even a little application (without becoming overly "preachy").
