"Exactly as described" according to Bekah June. Unlike some reviewers, I actually read the descriptor for this book.I found it to be exactly everything as promised. A portrait into the authors world, her dark writing prowess and sultry peek at a more taboo way of life.Her insights are genuine and real. I enjoy the various works of this author and look forward to her future publications.. John Green, NCGBT said Caught Up In Itself. If you're expecting a straight steampunk/gaslamp anthology, you'll be disappointed. There's more here than that, but also a great deal less.Consisting largely of previously published material, the book starts out fine with some interesting steampunk shorts, then veers off course with in a few contemporary tales- like the one about a couple discussing their commitment to infidelity in a Starbucks or the one about a woman who knows her lover is even crazier than she is but is he really crazy enough to kill her. "No more than 10%" according to dlc. I couldn't make myself read past 10% and honestly, I usually give a book at least 25%, on my Kindle. This was listed under Steampunk, but as far as I can tell the only thing Steampunk was her vibrator that was called a Zeppelin. Beyond the typos, this was a failing gesture at soft porn. If I had to put this in a classification, I'd say tacky bodice ripper. I didn't find the characters engaging or interesting enough to compel me to read more than 10%.
