Excellent Read A. Estes Terrific book! The story was compelling and moved at a brisk pace. The author was obviously an expert in the medical profession as the technical detail made the story authentic without going into too much jargon and procedure. I developed more sympathy for the characters as the story progressed and found myself genuinely caring as the story ended with the crescendo of a terrorist event in the D.C. area. I enjoyed the personal struggle of the protagonist with being an agnostic versus a religious believer and with the struggle between. A. Nony Mouse said Highly recommend this book. Excellent story, full of suspense, and frightfully realistic! I didn't want to put it down! BTW, I spent decades living in the Washington, D.C. area, and the author's descriptions of various locations and organizations made me feel like I was back there. Even the descriptions of the medical scenes were described well, with just enough detail for a non-medical reader to understand what was going on. Clearly, the author did a lot of research before writing this. Elliott is a terrific story teller and I hope he writes more!. Judy C. said Exciting Book. The Brink of Disaster kept me in suspense throughout the entire book, an excellent read. The only problem I had with the book was understanding the many medical terms and proceduresbut those terms gave the book it's flavor.

He commands a team of Army surgeons that parachutes into disaster sites, wrenching the critically injured from death’s grasp.Yet his wealth of medical experience cannot prepare Rob for what he next encounters – a sophisticated terrorist cell of medical professionals hell-bent on destroying the nation’s capital
