The creatures are unique and deadly but "The End" is far more devastatingly dangerous! L. White I can't believe this is a debut book for this author! Matthew Boyd has spun a well crafted tale of suspense, unusual plot perspective, and memorable characters. Hank is a bit of a bumbling archaeologist who is unsure of himself but is courageous and brave in the face of danger, with a wonderful sense of humor! When he follows his well respected Father (who is the real Archaeologist) to Algiers, to find the fabled city of Atlantis, they begin a journey that leads to the possible end of the world as we know it! The creatures are unique and deadly but "The End" is far more devastatingly dangerous! You will love. Finally! It has been quite a long time since I have found a good old-fashioned story-line like Blood and Sand. It had all the great elements of a first-rate adventure yarn. The characters were likable, the villains evil. I have read many, many novels that fell far short of this novel. I will be reading the rest of his work. Thanks for a wonderful read.James Smith. "the story was, fun!" according to reefdude. the introduction of each character increased the depth of the story, the story increased the depth of the characters and the story itself was nonstop action, albeit most improbable. but improbable is what this genre is all about - great book!
