DESCRIPTION:
A mother's story A Brilliant story by Amanda Prowse. My heart went out to Jessica, when her fairytale falls to pieces around her she does not seek help and tries to suffer through post natal depression on her own. Jessica's story is about what happens when you suffer from post natal depression and what the consequences are if it goes untreated. This story opened my eyes and made me glad that I did not have to suffer through post natal depression.Very well told and highly recommended.. "BRILLIANT GRIPPING READ" according to Fiction Squirrel. A really great story that looks at a family trying to cope with Postpartum Depression and an extreme case at that. I really liked the way Prowse shows how it can affect anyone, even those who seem to 'have it all.' It was good reading about a family in London and an insight into their fabulous life, that is until Jessica's life starts to unravel. The emotions are very real, I felt myself willing her well and really caring about the characters. I like her writing style very much and I love the way this story unfolds. A gripping read, I couldn't put it down. Highly re. "Remarkable!!!" according to Simona Elena. *Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*A Mother’s Story was my first book by Amanda Prowse and I instantly fell in love with her writing! This book is amazing, make sure you keep the tissues close though. The story follows Jessica, who is happily married to Matthew. I loved reading about the two of them, such an adorable couple.Their life changes when daughter Lilly is born, or should I rather say Jess changes?! Her maternal feelings are not there and she doesn’t really feel anything. Dealing with her postnatal depression is hard
Perhaps it’sbest if Jessica keeps that dark secret to herself for now.. But Jessica’s experience is far from joyous. How can you be a mother if you don't love your baby? A powerful new novel confronts the issue of postnatal depression. Jessica has just had the wedding of her dreams, and now she's setting up a new home with her lawyer husband Matthew. As they paint the nursery and shop for baby clothes, she plans for the joy that motherhood will bring. No one told her you don't always love your baby. Even better—they are expecting a child. Why
"Prowse handles her explosive subject with delicate skill Deeply moving and inspiring." —Daily Mail
