Wonderful guide! I purchased this for my granddaughter on a friend's recommendation - and I actually bought one for myself too! The instructions are clear - the pictures help a lot - and there are things that I never knew - hints and tricks for sewing - that are fantastic. My husband is also enjoying it - learning to sew!Great job Sophie!. Great book Jason Erin I ordered 3 sewing books, and this and another were great. My First Sewing Machine Book was a waste of money. This one has great pictures and is written on the kids' level, which is nice. I think it's cool they write it from a child's perspective. It describes the parts of the sewing machine, how to thread it with other basic information geared for an older kid.I do wish it had sewing pages found in other books for the child to practice following lines on pap

There are 16 projects in skill-building order from beginning to advanced and all of the instructions are in Sophie's voice - "Hi! My name is Sophie, and I am eleven." Any young sewist will love to read and relate to her thoughts and ideas. Pick four or five of the skill-building projects and gather a group of 10- to maybe 13-year-olds. This is the perfect book for any young person with the desire to learn to sew. The first portion of the book introduces the reader to the sewing machine, as well as the fabrics and notions needed to execute the projects. A Kid's Guide to Sewing made me smile. This book is squarely intended for machine sewing, while many kid c
