Here in this letter he challenges them to order, love and humility. This is a commentary on the first letter of the apostle Paul to the Corinthians. The city of Corinth, in Paul's day was a wealthy city. These new believers struggled to overcome their past and this had become quite obvious in their church life.Paul wrote this letter to challenge the Corinthians to deal with a number of issues that had arisen in the church because of their immaturity in Christ. The book is a challenge to the culture of our day as well as we too deal with many of the same issues. Each chapter is concluded with a series of questions to consider and some points for prayer to help the reader apply the truth to his or her personal life.. The church was a mixture of Jewish and Gentile converts who had been influenced by the wealth and immorality of the Corinthian culture of the day
